Minimising site waste

Our goal is to minimise site waste by recycling materials and conserving resources, including water, paper, and energy, wherever possible. We ensure any site waste that is produced is properly removed in compliance with legislation, using registered carriers to transport it to licensed disposal sites. We actively manage water and noise pollution on our projects and adhere to the Montreal Protocol by preventing the release of ozone-depleting gases, such as CFCs and halons, into the atmosphere.

Our Environmental Policy

Sustainable materials

Recycling materials is a core principle of our environmental policy. We prioritise reusing materials supplied to us whenever possible and actively seek out materials from recycled sources. As a scaffolding company, we recognise the industry’s impact on deforestation, which is why we source all our timber and scaffold boards from PEFC-certified suppliers, ensuring they come from sustainably managed forests. In 2020, to mark our 70th anniversary, we planted 70 trees in the National Forest as a way of giving back and replenishing some of the resources we’ve used over the years.

Protecting local environments

When carrying out our work, we always aim to avoid disturbing natural habitats and safeguarding wildlife, flora, and fauna. We operate a “good neighbour” policy, actively managing noise pollution and reducing our impact on both the local environment and the quality of life for nearby communities. Our projects often involve heritage sites, including Grade I and II listed buildings, where particular care needs to be taken to prevent damage to the existing structure and its surroundings. We take all necessary precautions, and in the rare event of an incident, it is thoroughly investigated, reported, and corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence.
